booked to sail the oasis in may with family. can i book reservations for more than 1 person; for example, my mom and i? we are booked in the same cabin and under the same cruise reservation. or do we need to schedule reservations separately?

Yes! The RCI site actually handles this really well! When you go to book, it will allow you to check a box for each person that you want to reserve who is in that cabin on t hat reservation #. It will also ask you if you want to " add guests from another reservation". If you check that box it will ask for their reservation number and last name. You can add more than one reservation (cabin) number by repeating the process till your whole party shows on the check list. Then they will come up for every show/ dinner/ excursion you book, and you can choose to select them or not. One caveat- if those folks have already reserved that show/ dinner component for themselves, it will not override that. It will tell you they already have a reservation. So you will want to make sure you have one point person to avoid confusion.
