Booster seats in different islands?

Traveling on Carnival Victory with my DD4 and DS8. They are both in booster seats here in the US. What is the law in Puerto Rico, St Thomas, Barbados, St. Lucia and St. Maarten? Technically my DS doesn't have to be in a booster here, but he is small, so better safe than sorry. The new law is 8yrs or 4'9". How safe are the vans and taxis in the different ports? Thanks for your help... and HAPPY NEW YEARS!:D

sail7seas, Thanks for the reply. I have read that in San Juan, children under 4 are required to be in car seats. 4-12 must be in the back seat, but it doesn't say booster seats are required. Just trying to see if I need to pack a booster or not.
