roothy123 Posted January 1, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2012 Just curious for those of you who cruised on Marina: What kind of classes/activities are offered in the Artist's Loft? I understand they're free, and a bit over-crowded, but other than that, I haven't heard much.
pacheco18 Posted January 1, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2012 On our transatlantic there was mostly painting ( abstract, still life, self-portrait) and digital photography -- I imagine the offerings depend on the skillsets of the guest teachers. There was also an active needlepoint group taught by Natalie, the Social Hostess (who is terrific) (she will be on Riviera when it sets sail). Each participant got a small project (eyeglass case, makeup case) to work on. The women seemed to really enjoy it.
A Knitter Posted January 1, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2012 There was also T-shirt painting, a memory book using items from the cruise and a necklace made out of yarn and fabric. We had a group of ladies who got together each sea day in Horizons before tea knitting and/or needlepointing.
LaCroisiereS'amuse Posted January 2, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 2, 2012 I think it depends on who you get in the Artists Loft.....I found the resident artist on Marina to be quite uninspiring (Laura.....can't remember the surname). You go the impression she was there for the ride & more interested in socialising with the crew. So unlike Chef Kelly & the other guest speakers/entertainers....
