Jade in europe

Any comments, likes and dislikes regarding this ship would be greatly apprecated. We are planning a trip mid 2013 and need to start looking at lines and itineries!

The Jade is our favorite NCL ship and we have sailed her twice in Europe on Eastern Med itineraries. The public spaces on the Jade are nice and we believe it is hard to go wrong sailing on her. We have always found the staff to be friendly, as they really try to go out of their way to meet your needs. Although we have only sailed the Eastern Med itineraries, we would like to sail the Jade in the Adriatic and have also heard good things about the itinerary in the Canaries. Like all of the Jewel class ships, the Jade has amazing suites. If you can swing the cost of a suite, we would highly recommend doing so.

We have been on many NCL ships and like the Jade as much as the others. Great ship.

You will find lots of likes, dislikes, etc in the reviews that past cruises have posted. You can find them in the review section.

Have just returned off a Canary Island cruise on Jade, and we have completed two previous Med cruises on her. Really like the manageable size of this ship, it has a good feel, a friendly crew, and our last Cruise Director, Gary, was superb. Like the choice of restaurants and bars, each having a different atmosphere, with the opportunity to try out French, Asian, Japanese, Italian, and American menus, and the new Moderno experience. Varied entertainment, something for everyone.

A pleasant library, quiet lounges, plenty of outdoor deck space, and a wrapround promenade deck to get some exercise on.

Always enjoyed our balcony stateroom on either deck 9 or 10 aft, with lots of storage space, comfy bed, home from home comforts, and small but adequate bathroom.

Ok some of the internal decoration or artwork may not be to everyone's taste but can live with that !

Lovely ship from which to see some of the best southern Europe and north Africa has to offer, including Florence, Rome, Naples, Athens, Venice, Izmir and Alexandria.

Sailed on the Jade in May 2010 - Barcelona, Monte Carlo, Florence, Rome, Naples, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona. For 3 of the 4 traveling together it was the first cruise ever!

We had a fabulous time and absolutely loved the Jade. The crew was friendly and sincerely helped us have the best experience. The ship itself was immaculate, and still looked new in 2010. We booked a balcony, but due to a price drop, were able to move up to a mini-suite. The room was spacious and the bathroom was pristine and roomy compared to our recent bathroom on the Spirit.

You should definitely consider the Jade for your trip - her itineraries are fantastic (we are thinking about the Canary Islands) and the price in the Med. is hard to beat.

Have fun planning :)

We sailed the Eastern Med on the Jade in November/December 2010 and absolutely loved her. The staff were friendly and helpful and the ship was well-maintained. We were in a mini-suite on deck 11; it was a lovely cabin and it more than suited our needs. We'd gladly sail her again, although I'm fairly certain we'll bump up to a full suite next time. In April we'll be in a penthouse suite on the Star, and I think that will spoil us so much that we'll have to book suites from here on out! :D
