Golden Princess 5/1

Is anyone sailing on the Golden from San Juan on 5/1?

Kind of confused about where the ship leaves from in San Juan. Our travel agent told us the pier in Old San Juan, Princess told us the Pan American Pier.

Has anyone stayed at the Hampton Inn in Isla Verde?

This is our second cruise - the first was on HA Zuiderdam last year.

Can't help you with the pier, we are sailing the Golden in Aug., Great Britain.

But we have stayed at the Hampton Inn in Isla Verde and loved it. The staff was wonderful. They have a nice pool and you can hop a bus into the Old Town for just a quarter. The stop is right across the street from H I.

I too am on this sailing and according to the San Juan port authority site we are scheduled to be at dock 4W which is in old San Juan. The previous sailings are all from the Pan American Pier. I hope this is correct. Possibly due to no other Carnival ships in port on that day so we get to use their dock.

Do you have the link that says the pier was moved?

I wouldnt stress out over which Pier it is you can see both of them from Old San Juan. So you will see that morning where your boat is. If it is in Old San Juan thats probably better because traffic getting to the other pier is a pain!!! I have not stayed at the Hampton but we stayed at a nice hotel by Senor Frogs in Old San Juan. I can't remember the name but it was a nice Casino hotel. Our family enjoyed staying there because there was lots of shopping and restaurants to walk to so you do not have to rent a car and also they had some live music around too. We could not understand it because it was mainly in Spanish but it was fun to experience it. There was a pool on top of the hotel where you could look out and see both piers and all the ships in the morning. If you have not booked the hotel let me know and I will get the name for you. Oh and we went on the Golden out of there and if you have not been on the Golden yet it was WONDERFUL!!! My family all went ranging from 47-21 in ages.

Are you sailing on 8/10 cruise? If so do you book your own excursions? We are looking for some people to possibly join us on excursions.
