bedford5 Posted January 4, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2012 We booked our first cruise on Celebrity with a TA that offered airfare included with the price of the cruise. Does anyone have any experience this kind of arrangement and what would your recomendation be? Has it been a good experience with seats and sitting together or should we cancel the airfare and book later with choice air? We are a group of 6 (3 couples) flying from los angeles to syndey australia in January 2013. We are being told that we wont find out about the airline until 30-60 days before the cruise and we are worried we'll get the leftover seats and scattered all over. Any experience or suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thank you
Fixit2010 Posted January 5, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2012 I have. Booked air tickets via TA. Word of warning. British Airways say confirm your seat 24 hours before flight. However what they actually mean is: If you don't mind being left with the odd seat then you can select your actual seat in the chosen cabin for free within the last 24 hours. If you want to sit next to your other half or family then B.A. Charges £30 per seat each way just to choose to sit next to someone you want. If you don't care being the furthest corner from your other half then just wait on the day and take pot luck from what is remaining. If you can, fly Virgin Atlantic
biker1972 Posted January 5, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 5, 2012 Use the information on the cruise air board here at CC to help learn. See the sticky at the top of that board about consolidator tickets as this is most likely what you will get. With the low price consolidator tickets you will get the same on-board service as others in your cabin. The problem is if things go south before the flight, you have fewer or no options.
