Boarding time for POA in Los Angeles.

The "official" word is that we can't board until 1:00 but I'm wondering what NCL usually does with boarding. Some cruiselines are real sticklers for the published boarding time and some let you on 1-2 hours or more early. The last time we were on NCL it wasn't a factor so I'm not sure how they handle it. Could someone give me their experience with this? It will make a big difference in what air some of our group gets.
