Droopy Posted April 13, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2005 We have been to past guest parties where they had a live band, casual dress and a festive atmosphere and we have been to past guest parties where they were just like the Captain's Party. What kind do they have on the Conquest? Also, a friend of ours is going along and he is a first time cruiser. Will they allow him to go to the past guest party? :)
waterbound Posted April 14, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2005 The past guest party is held in one of the lounges.. we missed the one last month on Conquest because we were out and about and didnt make it.. but we were on Conquest in 2003 and went to it.. No need to dress up.. I remember having to show the invitation at the door.... I dont believe they will let your friend in..
L_T Posted April 14, 2005 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2005 Attendance by invite only and they collect the invitation at the door - then later draw one out for a night at the upscale restaurant. Wouldn't want just anyone to have at those drinks the Captain buys for everyone!!

Oh, the Captain is buying? (I assume that you're having fun with the OP) In my past cruises, our invitation has never been collected.... Don't sweat it, Droopy. It's not a formal thing.;)
PrincessTraci Posted April 14, 2005 #5 Share Posted April 14, 2005 It's formal if the reception is on formal night. The night of the reception could change at any time. You do get an invite while onboard, and it will probably be on a casual night, but you never know.

Don't sweat it, Droopy. It's not a formal thing.;) We just got off the Conquest last Sunday - and can't remember what night the past cruiser party was! It was in the Degas Lounge, not formal, invites were collected, and there were unlimited drinks brought around. We asked if the Captain was buying the drinks, like at the Captain's party, and the waitress said "of course". Not that we ever believed that the Capt actually bought the drinks. The CD ran the program, the house band played, a video of Carnival history was shown, the Captain talked - everyone was thanked for their loyalty. We had a fine time, and had plenty of time to then make our 6:15 dinner. The Captain's party was on the first formal night (Monday), with live music, hors d'oeuvres and drinks - at all the aft lounges. The drinks were "compliments" of the Captain. 5:00-6:00 for the main seating dinner, and 7:15-8:15 for the late sitting dinner.
serene56 Posted April 14, 2005 #7 Share Posted April 14, 2005 On our victory Cruise--Joe was a first time cruiser- there was 7 of us who all got invitations. When we went the hostess said Joe cant go since he is NOT a repeat cruiser. as well as it should be. Past quest party is for past quest only. (he left and went to the casino--not a loss)
