Help!!! Carnival Ecstasy- Porthole room? Interior? What deck? Forward? Midship? Ahh!

I've always booked through a travel agent or had someone else book for me... but now I'm ready to book on my own and I'm clueless. We're looking to go on the Carnival Ecstasy in May, it will just be my husband and myself. Do I want a porthole or interior room? Forward or midship? What deck is the best? Do I want to be on the bottom one, second, or third? I'm lost!

Porthole cabins are better than inside--you get to look outside and the porthole is cool. Plus, those cabins have additional space due to the curve of the bow. I'd choose Riviera 10, 11, 12 or 17.

We like to book a porthole as you get it at an inside rate. A good deal for your $$. Nice and dark for sleeping but sunny during the daytime when you open the windows. I think they are only in the front of the ship on Carnival ships....which is cool if you enjoy hearing the waves hit the ship. The hallways are also less traveled so you don't get that noise. Just our preference. Have fun!
