Rdabadie Posted May 10, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2004 Hi all I'm a single traveller here, and usually go on Carnival because they just have the best rates if you don't want to share a cabin (1.5x the 1A Rate). However, there has to be better single rates than the 2x rates I see for NCL on most of the websites. Do any other single travelers have suggestions for a lower rate? FYI for the first time I may be cruising with a group of friends but still want my own cabin. pam512 Posted May 10, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2004 I booked a single cabin on the Spirit on 5/15, and because it was a "special rate", I had to pay double the per person fare. But it ended up being about the same as 150% of the usual single fare. There are so many variables regarding single occupany that you just have to do a lot of research. Good luck! kalamari Posted May 11, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2004 I came across a website called www.myowncabin.com that specializes in finding rates for single passengers only. I lucked out and had a fantastic travel angent that booked me at only 60% and not the usual double occupancy rate back in January and only one month before sailing...but she was not from the website, she was someone locally. axu9914 Posted May 12, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2004 The website is actually www.YourOwnCabin.com. They send out a weekly newsletter listing no single supplement cruises. I have been subscribed since mid February and have since booked 2 cruises. The newsletter is definately worth the $19.95 subscription fee. Better than spending hours searching the web for single occupancy specials or hoping my local travel agent would come up with something.
