Muster drill

On Royal ships they have a checkoff list to make sure every passenger is there.

A lot of people think of this as a form of minor harrasment.

But it's for everyones advantage. If there is a reason the go to your muster station. There should be someone there with that checkoff list. If you are there they won't have to send someone to go looking for you. Possibly endangering that persons life.

So if (God forbid) you are in a real emergency go to where you are supposed to be (unless you are told otherwise) You might be saving someones life. Not just your own.

Well put.

Wish it weren't necessary to advise people who think it acceptable that they hide in their room and then have to be hauled out by a crew member for muster. Actually going to your specific muster point in a practice will be an important location for you to remember should an emergency occur.
