Buck Island Reef Monument?

We will be in St Croix in April, wondering if Buck Island is our best place to snorkel. Some posts on other boards said coral is dead and not many fish. Before I spend the $$ for 5 of us to snorkel there, can anyone tell me if it is better than other ports we will be at (Grenada, St Lucia, Antigua, St Thomas) or any recommendations for snorkeling at these other ports would be appreciated!:)
