Miami sailaway newbie -- what to look out for?

In a few months, we'll be sailing out of Miami for the first time. Since this is a new embarcation port for us, I was wondering whether there are any particular "don't miss" things to see during the sailaway, and whether I should be on one side of the ship versus the other, or on a deck where I can easily go back and forth.

Thanks!

Go to the Port side aft pool and wave to all the people" not going on a cruise"

Oooh, good thread! I sailed out of Miami once, but I was so overwhelmed by everything I don't remember much of what to look for. :)

Fortunately, we booked port side and my parents are directly across on starboard. We didn't know where we'd be for sailaway-looks like our balcony it is!

We're sailing from there next month. Also our first time out of Miami. Looking at videos of sailaways, it is very pretty as you leave Miami on the port side. Our cabin is starboard so don't believe we'll be in our cabin during sailaway then. This is good to know.
