What other hotels/casino's are close to this hotel? Is there any "local" restaurants within walking distance? How far is it from the airport & cost of a cab? How far is it to PAN AM pier & cost of a cab? Any other info on hotel or area would be appreciated. Thanks

Can't help you on other close hotels in Condado, but the Pan Am Pier is right across the bridge that goes from Condado into Old San Juan. The cab fare to the ship should be $9 which is the minimum price for 1 zone of travel. You can see the ships docked at the pier in the distance from their little beach area. The fare from the airport should be around $19 (can't remember if the Conrad is 2 or 3 zones and taxi prices are strictly by the zone and extra luggage. Luggage is $1 per bag more. It is about a 15 minute cab ride.

The casino in the Conrad is very nice.

The Conrad has a couple of nice restaurants at their location but there are also a few restaurants within easy walking distance too.

The Conrad is located at the very tip of Condado and has a small cove beach that is nice for swimming. The ocean side is rocky, so no swimming there. Looking out from the hotel, there is a bridge on the right that crosses into OSJ and towards the pier too- not really within walking distance though. To the left is the rest of the Condado area with shops, restaurants, and the ocean which is easily walkable. I liked the location and the hotel because it was very convienent to everything- either by walking, or a short taxi ride to OSJ.

You can get rooms that overlook the city or the ocean. We stayed on the city side because it was much more affordable.

At night, if you look out towards the ocean about 45 minutes to an hour after the ships depart (from the Pan Am pier), you can get a nice view of them sailing by- if their route takes them that way. They have three pools and a swim up bar. The grounds are quite nice. The only thing its missing is a sandy, ocean front beach- but the cove beach is a good alternative because the Atlantic can be quite rough.

Hope that helps

Try reading the reviews onTripAdvisor dot com. Some of them are scary, others are helpful. I will be staying at the Conrad in 2 weeks.
