Florence on May 1

We will be on the Celebrity Solstice and arriving in Florence on May 1. I know that this is a holiday and the museums will be closed. Any suggestions on how to spend our time there? This will be our first time to Europe. Thanks for any help. Cheryl

Florence is a gorgeous city. You need never to step into a museum to be overwhelmed by her art. Wander the streets, step into any number of amazing churches. Sip wine and sample bites at any one of the many bacaros. We were in Venice on May 1st a few years ago and there were little celebrations around the island. I would suspect the same to be true in Florence.

Another consideration, would be to get in touch with a tour company like romeinlimo or unforgettabletuscany and visit another lovely Tuscan village. Pisa/Lucca is a common combination or winetasting through the Chianti region.

Have an amazing time!
