Erwende Posted January 26, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2012 I am about to book an inside cabin on the Sky for a quick girls cruise. We just need a place to sleep. Anyone have any tips on locations or categories? Leaning towards an IA cabin. Open to any suggestions. Thanks

Anyone have any tips on locations or categories? Leaning towards an IA cabin.Open to any suggestions. Thanks The categories have changed since our cruise, but we stayed in one of the supposedly slightly larger interior cabins #5107. My pictures can be found here. It was a fine location for us. Convenient but still pretty quiet. We have had a smaller interior (Sovereign of the Seas) and larger (Explorer of the Seas). Our only other interior on NCL was one of the extra large interiors on the Spirit, so I can't really compare it to other NCL cabins.

How interesting, our first cruise in 2002 to Alaska was on the Sky and in cabin 5107, it was a good location and we had lots of room. We go with the twin bed set up giving us more floor space. We really enjoyed the Sky.
GorillaPaper Posted January 27, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 27, 2012 Just sailed on the Sky a week ago - we had a very small inside cabin - 8114 - we made due (my mother and I) but I wouldn't put anymore than 2 people in it. The location was great and not noisy plus you are right in between everything - the pool deck is 11, casino is 7, Bliss and Stardust, photos, track on 6. We had a great time on the Sky. Enjoy! cliffd64 Posted January 27, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2012 In general, people desire inside cabins that are as high as possible, and as mid ship as possible. Enjoy your cruise :-)
Sunkissed Mommy Posted January 27, 2012 #6 Share Posted January 27, 2012 Generally we take whatever we can for the money we want to pay. We're not picky. I can advise you that on the lowest deck (Deck 4) you will hear the anchor and gangways rather loudly in the mornings. Our cabin was practically vibrating one morning! That being said we had a fabulous time and the ship is wonderful :)
spacepotatoes Posted January 27, 2012 #7 Share Posted January 27, 2012 We were on deck 8 towards the aft, 8140. At the time, it was a category K. If you'd like to see pictures, they start here: This was a standard inside, so pretty small. The superior insides are the same layout but longer so there is room for a small couch across from the desk. Our cabin was below other staterooms and just above the shops so no issues with noise. Being towards the aft was perfect for getting almost anywhere, especially to the buffet and one of the main dining rooms.

BeckyMax Posted February 21, 2012 #9 Share Posted February 21, 2012 We are saying in 8359 on our upcoming sailing, have also stsyed in the mirror image one on the other side of the ship. These 2 room are a full 3 feet wider than other inside cabins. They are above the main theater but once the show is over we hea NCL Sky 3/19/
yoyocruiser Posted February 21, 2012 #10 Share Posted February 21, 2012 Do try to get one of the slightly larger inside staterooms--these rooms have a small couch/loveseat that is very nice and you actually can sort of "hang out" in the room given that you have this space. You did not say how many were going but if you have more than 2 you will be quite crowded. We had three in the room and the third person slept in the loveseat--which made into a bed at night. HOWEVER--when this happened, you could not get around the pulled out couch bed to get in and out of the cabin or to and from the bathroom. Therefore--if there are 3 of you, you might wish to book an inside that indicates it will hold 4 people so that the third person can sleep in the bunk that folkds down from the ceiling. Of course--that probably has a downside too. Definitely pack lightly--even if there are only two of you. The rooms are okay but once you get all the stuff in them, it gets really hard to maneuver. Each of the three of us had a small carry on and then either a back pack or large purse. We traveled very light--but it was only for 4 nights. After you unpack you can put the suitcases under the bed.
cocheese Posted February 21, 2012 #11 Share Posted February 21, 2012 BeckyMax I would love to see some pictures when you get back. We have booked this room for our kids in May. We will be roughing it across the hall in a Aft Balcony :)

travel_mom_1 Posted September 29, 2012 #14 Share Posted September 29, 2012 I am planning on upcoming trip on the Sky. I saw your photos from cabin 8158 and see that you have now sailed in 8359. Can you tell me if these cabins have a sofa in them? I didn't catch one in your photos, but seems like the bigger cabin would have space for one. Thanks!
