Starry Eyes Posted January 28, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2012 Sorry to ask another DSC question, but this one is only about distribution among stewards. Does anybody know how if a steward servicing a room for four gets a larger share of the pool that cruise than a steward servicing a room for two? Or do all the stewards share evenly in the pool, knowing it will fairly out in the long run? second question, if we give a steward a tip above the DSC, does he/she keep it, or does it go into the pool? I ask because we plan to rearrange guests on board. Full DSC will be paid for all guests. I know NCL will not care who sleeps where, but I would like to treat both room stewards fairly. valleyvillage Posted January 28, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2012 Since you are leaving the DSC in place then any extra you give to your Steward is theirs to keep. As far as the way they distribute the DSC, when I spoke with a longtime NCL crew person he explained that it is a formula that has to do with seniority, various incentives, surveys, etc.
Fine and Jim Dandy Posted January 28, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2012 They do not divide the DSC based on people in room for the week. It's just luck of the draw by the stewards. One week they may have two, the next they may have five. It all evens out in the end.
Starry Eyes Posted January 28, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted January 28, 2012 Thank you both for your input. It does not sound as if one of the stewards to get the short straw when we rearrange the people among the rooms, which makes me feel better...and we can always add some cash if one of the stewards does an especially good job.
