Just back from our Cruise

We did b2b on Pride of America, got home today and will do a review in the next few days.

But wanted to share some info we heard.

The POA will be going into dry dock and the Jade which most of us know used to be called Pride of Hawaii is coming back to take the place of POA which will be going to Europe, this will happen sometime in 1/2014.

It all has to do with the new ships c that are coming on stream.

On a negative note we found the Platinum Latitudes get-together to be quite a let down. While the location was sort of nice at the front of the ship where the staff have their pool you had to climb over a wall about 12 to 18" high which was obviously there to stop any water from coming in but it sure was difficult for some to get over, it was also in the heat of the day 1:45 pm which just happened to be 45 minutes before sail away, therefore there was only one senior officer which was the hotel director and the rest were all juniors.

The hotel director, note I don't use capitals as I don't think he is worthy

made a brief thank you for cruising NCL.

They served champagne and or orange juice or mimosa's and that was it no cheese tray no horderves.

Really! Is this the best they can do for their top cruisers of which there were 20 to 30 people.

This was a an absolute disgrace from what we've had on past ships including POA on 2010.

Needless to say I put a comment into the comment box at reception and will doubt that I'll get any feed back.

Otherwise it was a great cruise all around except for Lazy Js were again we

had lousy flavorless steak that they didn't let rest long enough and so with the 10 oz. fillet you ended up with a plate full of blood even when ordering medium and for the first time the shrimp for the cocktail were way over cooked and barely chewable. WE have now totally given up on this place and the Cagney's on the other ships.

AS for the rest of the paid restaurants they were great especially Jefferson's Bistro were we ate three times a week. And the "Best of All" at $15 the first night is not to be missed as it's a very good deal.
