TravelRocker Posted February 3, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2012 Hi, I was just down on the Casino thread and there's nothing current regarding the Poesia. I've only had the experience of a cruise casino once before, Princess Sapphire, and it was hit and miss. What have you experienced on the Poesia. I play mainly slots, what's hot what's not? What about cigarerette smoke, a lot or not? Do they ever have a no-smoking night? thanks. Darn, realized I mispelled the shop's name, Poesia, can't fix it in the title I guess, oops!.... lousk Posted February 9, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2012 Hi, I was just down on the Casino thread and there's nothing current regarding the Poesia. I've only had the experience of a cruise casino once before, Princess Sapphire, and it was hit and miss. What have you experienced on the Poesia. I play mainly slots, what's hot what's not? What about cigarerette smoke, a lot or not? Do they ever have a no-smoking night? thanks. Darn, realized I mispelled the shop's name, Poesia, can't fix it in the title I guess, oops!.... i've been checking your post for a week now & wondering why no one has answered your query, so i'll do the best i can. slots are as iffy as they are on any ship. i had the best luck with the diamond 2000 machines which i believe were 2 cent ones. smoke can be very heavy at times depending on the number of people in there. i'm a smoker & several times i had to leave because it was so thick. i can't remember if there was a non smoking night or not. the casino itself is on the drab side. not the glitz & glitter that we're used to in our american casinos. you must remember that it's a european ship & things are done their way. in the middle of the room there are 4 roulette tables, only 1 of which was used in the 3 wks i was on it. all the slots are on the walls surrounding them. on one end, opposite the bar, are 5 card tables, that's all. the casino mgr was standoffish & spent most of his time leaning on one end of the bar staring at people when not talking to the cashier. the dealers tended to mirror his personality. the only thing it did for me was kill time. hope this helps & with any luck they may have changed their ways. go have a good time anyway. TravelRocker Posted February 10, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted February 10, 2012 Well hi there Lou, I was beginning to wonder too.....well, it sounds like the casino must have just the basics, probably nothin' like Vegas huh? I'm going to see if the myth/theory of winning more the 1st night is true or not! I just play slots so may just stick to the lower bets and see what happens. Thanks for answering, Cheers! sophiecruiser Posted February 17, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 17, 2012 Was on the Poesia in December. I like to play roulette and each night, there was only 1 table open, and it was always full. We had to ask the manager to open a second table, which he did quickly. The 2nd table filled up fast - I didn't win, but it was still fun to play. On the last night around midnight, my son won $1000 on the nickel slot (Fortune Cookie). It was so funny, because the attendant who spoke broken English, went to his machine and asked him if 'he had 18 years' which of course he meant 'are you 18 years old'. My son was cracking up. TravelRocker Posted February 18, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted February 18, 2012 Well, it certainly is nice to see that the lower denomination coins pay out the big bucks! And not necessarily on the first night! Cha Ching!

Wimpinthewater35 Posted February 18, 2012 #8 Share Posted February 18, 2012 I loved the video roulette more expensive than the slots but much easier to win with more control then with slots. Paid out really well 1st 2nd and final nights of our cruise $500 each night only 20min of playing the entire cruise Thanks MSC Poesia for the donation to our next cruise fund. During our cruise at the beginning of Feb 2012 the casino had a slight smell of smoke but the sewage smell near the cage was by far worse. Always able to find a machine or table.
