like2cruise Posted April 17, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 17, 2005 Hi! We are wondering if anyone knows what bars you go to when you do the pub crawl? We have read that many of the bars are with in walking distance and everyone ends at Carlos & Charlies. Do you ride the bus from bar to bar or do they park the bus and you walk from bar to bar? We are just thinking if the bars are near each other there may not be a big benefit of doing this when we can do the same on our own...other than the benefit of meeting the others on the bus. True??? Any information is appreciated! Thanks!!!
pltag Posted April 19, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2005 We did the Pub Crawl in Feb. and had a blast! The bus does take you from spot to spot. The first few are pretty far away and you then work your way back towards C&C's which is very close to the ship. A few comments - Be prepared to make your own fun as the first few stops were made up entirely of the members of the crawl. Also, bring extra cash, especially if you are a beer drinker as the "1st Free Drink" at each spot is a 7 oz. bottle.......they don't last real long! :) Hope this helped, let me know if you have any other questions! like2cruise Posted April 19, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted April 19, 2005 Thank you so much for the information. Do you think you would of had just as much fun bar hopping on your own? Which company did you use! Besides beer what other drinks were offered!?! Thanks again!
pltag Posted April 22, 2005 #4 Share Posted April 22, 2005 I don't think we would have had as much fun on our own. We certainly would not have been motivated enough to make it to as many spots, but as I said other than our group the first few spots were pretty dead. Full bar at all stops so I'm sure you can get whatever you want. We booked through Royal Carribeans excursions, but you can also book on your own. MJ25 Posted May 25, 2005 #6 Share Posted May 25, 2005 Did the Pub Crawl on May 17th and had a blast! Diver and assistant on the bus were outstanding. Great 60's and 70's music on the bus that everyone was signing along with and shacking their maracas (?). This was our first port of call and we made friends on this excursion that we interacted with the rest of the cruise. (This was our main reason for booking it) As posted before, first stops are just cruise people, complimentary drinks are 7oz, but all bars are fully stocked. There was a lot of dancing, singing and of course drinking. At the 3rd stop they had some of the guests kareoke. At the 4th stop a half dozen men decided to jump up on the bar and dance to the Village People. Some clothing was removed! Carlos & Charlies was fun but very very crowded. You could have passed out and never hit the floor. For those of you taking this tour, the bus is open air, no A/C. Dress casual and confortable and have a great time! w&k Posted May 29, 2005 #7 Share Posted May 29, 2005 What a blast (and a hangover). When we did it about 4 years ago, we did a champagne toast on the beach, a beautiful dinner on the back deck of some government official's house, then three bars on the way back to Carlos and Charlie's. Carlos and Charlie's was so full when we got there, we just got our beers and headed back to the ship for the midnight party on the pool deck. Our group definitely stood out! (more like staggered out, though) I'm still listening to the CD, but have forgotten how to do the Barcardi Dance. Am thinking about it for our spring trip back there...
