Good Place to be during Sail Away on Voyager?

Voyager class cruisers...

 

Anybody have any good perch recommendations for Sail Away on the Voyager?

In Feb. 06 it will be on my aft balcony 9390...

Walk out on deck 4, all the way forward, and climb the stairs at the front.

 

Voila! Heliport. King-of-the-world spot. BYOB, no bar service!

Near the peek-a-boo bridge, on Deck 11. Bar staff even comes over!

 

If I had to pick a side, I'd say port - in Miami you get to see the Miami Beach and the gorgeous houses in Biscayne Bay. In Bayonne, you can see the Statue of Liberty.

When I worked on the ship, I liked it near the back (by the kiddie pool). None of the kids were there yet, and you got to see the port slip away from you. That was pretty cool. Jet skis also rode the wake, so you got to watch them.

 

In NYC, port side...who wants to look at New Jersey? Not me...

Once you get under the bridge, the pool deck is the place to be. You can see how close the ship gets to the bridge.

For a drink before dinner and sail away (often around the same time), the Viking Crown Lounge is the best. You can see the most from up there in air conditioned comfort. A real favorite with us.

And for our 5/7/05 Voyager Repo cruise, we will also be in 9390...our intention is to be on our balcony sipping champagne and enjoying chocolate strawberries.

Ahh, another New Jersey fan, how lovely. As my wife and I live in Jersey City, right on the Hudson River, we've seen our share of cruiseships leaving the Port of New York...most passangers appear to be standing at the front of the shp, but there are quite a few on the starboard side, enjoying the beautiful view of the real world <grin>
