BeccaBecca1713 Posted February 8, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2012 There was a dispute last year but it was apparently resolved. Haven't heard of any new troubles. Where did you hear about this happening last month?
cruise_pirate Posted February 8, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 8, 2012 I hope there are no problems, my snorkel is looking forward to visiting in a few months!:)
1948buddy Posted February 8, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 8, 2012 Here is the latest I know. We are on the Mariner or the Seas, and will be in Belize on March 15. I had tried to book Caye caulkner with Coral Breeze, but they were booked up with Carnival Legend passengers. Now I checked today, and the tour is available, so I do not know if the Legend cancelled it's call there are what.
mkleblanc Posted February 8, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 8, 2012 Our ship (Glory) was supposed to head to Belize in a few weeks (March 7th) but will be going to Costa Maya instead. Apparently some of the itineraries from Jan-Apr were changed and are skipping Belize due to port over crowding. Too many ships not enough tenders. Bummer, we had cave tubing already booked. :(
1948buddy Posted February 8, 2012 #7 Share Posted February 8, 2012 So now I book the tour, everything goes through. Now I get an e-mail saying tour will not work. I am beginning to think Coral Breeze does not have their act together, although they have good reviews.

Snorkel2Much Posted February 8, 2012 #9 Share Posted February 8, 2012 There was a dispute last year but it was apparently resolved. Haven't heard of any new troubles. Where did you hear about this happening last month? Some (not all) sailings of the Glory early this year and our March 25 sailing of the Legend have had Belize replaced by Costa Maya. Tender capacity/port congestion was the reason given in the email Carnival sent me.
1948buddy Posted February 8, 2012 #10 Share Posted February 8, 2012 I think Coral Breeze had their web site fouled up. Thanks for the info. Did you do an excursion in Belize? We were there 2 weeks ago on the Legend no probs at all.:).

jules1121 Posted February 8, 2012 #12 Share Posted February 8, 2012 Weird, I wonder if this is just something that crops up this time of year. I remember the problem withe Belize tenders same time last year and it was all resolved by the time we cruised in June. kr8z Posted February 8, 2012 #13 Share Posted February 8, 2012 Glory canceled Belize and replaced with Costa Maya from Jan to late March this year. I was very disappointed as I had specifically booked for Belize.
INTERLINER13 Posted February 8, 2012 #14 Share Posted February 8, 2012 I can only imagine how many tenders they need in Belize. It is quite a ride from the ship to the shore. This is due to the swallow water surrounding the island.

Chmie Posted February 8, 2012 #16 Share Posted February 8, 2012 We're booked into Belize on the Magic in July and have not heard from Carnival of any changes.
Gwen44 Posted February 8, 2012 #17 Share Posted February 8, 2012 Glory canceled Belize and replaced with Costa Maya from Jan to late March this year. I was very disappointed as I had specifically booked for Belize. I am disappointed too! We will be on Glory for a wedding in March and I was so excited when I thought we were going to Belize. I did a report on Belize in elementary school and for some reason it has always stuck in my mind as a place I might want to visit someday.
Snorkel2Much Posted February 8, 2012 #18 Share Posted February 8, 2012 We're booked into Belize on the Magic in July and have not heard from Carnival of any changes. You are most likely fine. The congestion is because there are so many ships in the Caribbean during the winter/early spring.
spleenstomper Posted February 8, 2012 #19 Share Posted February 8, 2012 Oh, i hope Belize doesn't get cancelled for us!! My husband's grandfather was born and raised there and we really want the kids to see it! (aside from taking a land vacation there).
katiepe Posted February 9, 2012 #20 Share Posted February 9, 2012 Glory canceled Belize and replaced with Costa Maya from Jan to late March this year. I was very disappointed as I had specifically booked for Belize. Ditto.. and the thing is I checked other days and number of passenegers and ships in port and most of the days there were more people than on the days the Glory was scheduled to be in port(does that make sense?) In other words the "too many people in port" "not enough tenders" excuse doesnt fit. Something else for sure and yes it was supposed to happen with the Glory last year at this same time period but I dont believe sailings were cancelled last year..
