jrm116 Posted February 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2012 I dont live in the NY area but have always liked the look of Splendor and wanted to sail on it. Now that is more possible!!
VickiD59 Posted February 10, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2012 I'd probably get alittle more excited if somehow with the Splendor coming, they'd figure a way to have different ports. The Eastern Caribbean run is getting tiresome. Different ship... same places.

Rare shof515 Posted February 10, 2012 #13 Share Posted February 10, 2012 as a native new york, i agree that the island route from the port of new york can be boring, crappy, repetitive . The biggest problem is due to distance and the speed of the ships..If ships can travel maybe like at 40-50 knots, then it can take maybe 1 day to cover the one thousand or so miles need to reach the Bahama or Caribbean islands

H82seaUgo Posted February 10, 2012 #22 Share Posted February 10, 2012 It's attitudes like that, that encourage Carnival to keep coming up with these crap itineraries. exactly. when the miracle and the legend were sailing out of ny at the same time, the prices plummetted on the miracle with that awful itinerary. it was actually $500 cheaper at the time. and all that did was attract cheap cruisers. fool me once... The biggest problem is due to distance and the speed of the ships..If ships can travel maybe like at 40-50 knots, then it can take maybe 1 day to cover the one thousand or so miles need to reach the Bahama or Caribbean islands if only carnival had the clout to secure bermuda sailings. even with 2 docks since '08, all they could do is sail there off season. and then abandon it once again, or get blocked out. Well I'm A Cheap Cruiser, And What's Wrong With That??? Our Enconomy, Is In A DEPRESSION!! I'm NOT Loyal To ANY Cruiseline, They Don't Care About My Bottomline, And I Don't Care About Theirs!!! If You Don't Want To Sail With "Cheap Cruisers", Try Holland America, Cunard, Or Seabourne, If "YOU" Could AFFORD It!!!!
