Ted W Posted February 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2012 I noticed Carnival allows each person over 21 to bring on 1 bottle of wine or champagne. There is a uncorking fee in the resturants. Are you allowed to drink this in your room at your leisure
conchead Posted February 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2012 Yep and by drinking it in your cabin, there is no corkage fee. If you need an opener, ask your steward. They might also be able to get you some wine or champagne glasses. (if they do..slip them a little something extra)
mommyto3girls:) Posted February 10, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2012 We drank a bottle in the Lido restaraunt on the first day of our last cruise, so that is another free option.
tandemcruzr Posted February 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2012 We ordered wine via Bon Voyage. Took it to the MDR as well as the Steakhouse on the Legend. Since it was from the "Carnival Wine List" there was no corkage fee. As the other posters mentioned, drink in your room/balcony or carry to Lido also no corkage. tafische Posted February 10, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2012 Just ask one of the bartenders for a pair of wine glasses and they are happy to do so....open in your room and carry glasses around the boat or to dinner if you wish...no problem at all. Equest Posted February 10, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 10, 2012 The only time we found a note saying our luggage was searched was when we brought out authorized wine, our room steward opened the wine for us.

'Authorized wine' is supposed to be in your carry on, not in checked luggage. gary
Bigdog44 Posted February 10, 2012 #8 Share Posted February 10, 2012 I opened a bottle of carry-on wine in our room and walked right down to dinner with it. No one said anything to us. Our waiter brought glasses and poured with no issues at all. Opened another bottle in the room and took it to the casino for the ladies in our group. The casino bartender gave me 3 glasses w/ no questions asked. I would recommend taking your own corkscrew.
