train question

My husband and I are planning an early summer trip to Alaska, we are thinking of HAL or Princess cruisetour starting in Anchorage. I am concerned about the train that has table seating with some riding backwards. I would not be able to do that. This sounds like the Princess direct to wilderness rail. The HAL McKinley explorer has seats like a motor coach. Is this correct? Can you request not to be backwards if we go with Princess? A pretty long train ride we want to be able to enjoy. Thanks for any experienced insight.

The Princess rail cars that go to Denali are the table seating. You will have no trouble getting a forward facing seat. From Denali to Whittier you will be on a HAL rail car (for Princess) which has all forward facing seats.
