Ckrewz Posted February 12, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2012 We sail in one week- YAY!! We have purchased our liquor and a wine package from BV and I am wondering if we can take a beverage anywhere on the ship. If my husband is in the sports bar having some beers can I bring my own to sit with him or is that frowned upon? I know many have posted they take a wine/cocktail to dinner but I was wondering about other areas on the ship. Thank you!
*Mach* Posted February 12, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2012 You certainly can. :) You're free to bring a cocktail pretty much anywhere regardless of its origin. The same with a glass of wine!! :)
am588 Posted February 12, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2012 yes you can walk anywhere on board with drinks. we'd often order a drink at the casino and bring it to red frog

CWcruisers Posted February 12, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 12, 2012 I've carried an entire bottle of wine from my wine package with me to the clubs and bars and it's not a problem. If you bought it from CCL, you're welcome to consume it wherever.
Ckrewz Posted February 13, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted February 13, 2012 Thanks for all the replies! Will I need plastic or can I drink my wine out of a "glass" glass?
mondello Posted February 13, 2012 #7 Share Posted February 13, 2012 Thanks for all the replies! Will I need plastic or can I drink my wine out of a "glass" glass? Room stewards can keep your cabin supplied with glassware upon request. May be able to cadge glasses from a bar, too.

askimdog Posted February 13, 2012 #9 Share Posted February 13, 2012 I have carried my allowable wine all over, as well as my BV bottles. I have had a bottle with me in the library while playing games or reading, I have had a bottle of wine with me in the sports bar. Your stuff, take it where ya want, no problem. Colorado Kat Posted February 13, 2012 #10 Share Posted February 13, 2012 I bring a plastic, double-walled insulated cup with me. Works well for a drink, or wine. Just hate to carry glass out on deck, by the pools and hot-tubs. When I go to the dining room, I take my wine in one of the stemmed water glasses they leave in your cabin. elcuchio24 Posted February 13, 2012 #11 Share Posted February 13, 2012 As long as you leave the glass BOTTLE in your room, everything else is fine....

Maybe when I sail next month I will do this, but put it in a brown paper bag just for effect.:D I have a bottle of wine coming, but I don't drink a lot of wine, so I think I will bring it to dinner to share with my table mates. The Anchor Banker Posted February 13, 2012 #13 Share Posted February 13, 2012 If you order a wine package in advance, does it get added to your shipboard account or do you have to pay for it before you get onboard? I understand ordering in advance saves you the 15%. On that same vein, does anyone know if the decent tasting reds are included in the cheaper package? We have been spoiled by amazing Canadian wines which surprisingly aren't sold onboard but have found the Santa Carolina Merlot drinkable at a low cost but we're not sure if that's included in the packages. Has anyone found a decent red wine available at a reasonable price onboard?
xplor97 Posted February 13, 2012 #14 Share Posted February 13, 2012 This is where I bring my empty rum runners on the ship. I pour my BV liquor into the rum runners and then use them at the various locations around the ship. My wife is always carrying a bag, so usually ends up in there. I try not to be too obvious about pouring from the rum runners but I always have my receipt back at the cabin just in case anyone from Carnival asks. Carry them into port also. cathyz Posted February 14, 2012 #17 Share Posted February 14, 2012 You can go anywhere you want, but they do frown upon glass around the pools, they have plastic cups for that area.
