ljzelenz Posted February 13, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2012 Hello, I will be traveling on the Allure in April with my husband and two young children. I have a brittle bone disease and have limited mobility. I will be bringing my wheelchair along. I need to know first what type of transportation that I can expect at the port. How long is the ride to Sapphire in St Thomas and Orient in St. Martin Will the ride be bumpy , etc? How safe is the transportation with children? Also will I be able to access the area with my wheelchair once we arrive at the beach ? Any information is greatly appreciated!
Cru1s1ng2009 Posted February 16, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2012 my DD is a paraplegic. We have 2 incidents happen in St thomas and we didnt even try venturing for the beach. :( The roads are not great there. they are rutted and have pot holes. She fell out of her chair while we were street shopping and her chair flipped backwards while she was in it and in the back of the van when we hit a bump at 45 MPH. Which should be the maximum speed limit there. There is a great transport van and person there if you want their info.
