Cabo tender info / Splendor

I will be visiting Cabo next week on the Splendor (our 1st cruise) & my question is regarding how quickly I can get off the ship when the tenders start. The 1st day there we are ziplining and have to meet our shuttle at the pier 40 minutes after the ship is due to arrive. I am willing to get up as early as needed to "check-in" or to get our place in line. Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect and how the tender process works and if my entire party would need to be present to get our place in line. Thank you for any help you can give me.

If you don't get much help on this board try posting specifically on the Carnival boards as they will have more exact info...However I have found tour operators will usually be very patient in waiting for their cruise passengers especially in tender ports...Good luck !

They will announce where the tender tickets can be picked up. Go EARLY and get your tender tickets, then get your breakfast and then you will usually head to the theatre where they will hold you until your group is called. They give the first boats to passengers who booked tours through carnival.

However, by going early, and picking up our tickets we have always been able to get off within a 1/2 hour. If you have two days in Cabo, by the second day most people are too hung over to get up early so you will have no problems getting off the ship quickly.

Getting back on board, there can be a huge line as well. There are a couple of little bar/restaurants right by the pier that have $2.00 beers and you can just sit and order them until you see the line is almost gone. Just make sure you are not like us, running for the last tender:D

I'm assuming that this is a non Carnival excursion? You do know that the Splendor will be hour behind Cabo time so when you arrive the first day in Cabo, it will be 9:30 ship time but it is really 10:30 Cabo time.

If it is a Carnival excursion, then not to worry as you will get priority boarding on the tender boats.

This info is for Cabo san lucas, DAY 1 only-

If your on a Carnival excursion that departs from the pier at 11:30am or earlier, then you will meet in the Lounge in the back of the ship 45 minutes prior to your excursion departure time.

If your on a non Carnival excursion, then they will start to hand out tender stickers starting at 8:30am. Your whole party won't need to be present to get the tender stickers. Once they call your tender sticker #, your party will head to the main showroom on deck 3 forward where the staff will escort you to the tender boats.

Most important thing is to ALWAYS stay on ship time. Last tender in Cabo DAY 1 is 5:30pm SHIP TIME!! This is important because Cabo San lucas will be one hour ahead of ship time. This is why I always bring a watch as to not depend on my cell phone for time.

I just have one question? if the ship time is one hour behnd Cabo time.. why is it so important to be on ship time? Wouldnt you be at the pier 1 hour earlier than you needed to be? Or is it the othe way around?

thanks

If you were catching the tenders back to the ship then yes you would be at the pier an hour earlier than you need to be. It's important to know the time differences though so you can plan excursions and stuff on your own. Who wants to head back to ship an hour earlier than needed. That's an extra hour you could have been snorkeling, or drinking or parasailing. I really enjoy Cabo so I take all that I can get, we're usually catching the very last tender back to the ship.

If you didn't book through Carnival, be careful of Cabo time vs. ship time. Sometimes it is different.

Thanks...yes I am aware of the time difference. We are scheduled to meet at 11:10 cabo time so that will give me 40 minutes

On our cruise 2 weeks ago, they were passing them out at the Loyalty and cruise expert desk, on deck 5 midship. I don't know if they change the location week to week but it will be all listed in the Fun Times and I'm sure Todd the CD will mention it as well.

Have a great cruise!!
