roothy123 Posted February 15, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2012 Hi. I'm not new to Oceania, but I am new to Marina. Our upcoming cruise has two "at sea" days, so I suppose I'll be outside at least part of those days. I loved the sun deck on Regatta (i.e., above the pool deck), and Oceania usually had at least a small stack of lounge chairs up there for those of us who like quiet. Does Marina have that? Also, do they have the private cabanas, or did Oceania do away with them? They weren't used that often on Regatta.

I would think that it would be easier to look at a deck plan, than to type out your question here, but since you ask, there is a large sunning area with lounge chairs on deck 16 of the Marina, but it is not so quiet as on the R ships because the sunning area surrounds a central Activities Court for athletics. In place of the Cabanas on the R ships, the Oceania Class has several miniature putting greens.

Not only does Marina have lounge chairs on that sun deck, but the decks are wider, allowing for both loungers and walkers to coexist comfortably. The wider sun deck also has the positive effect of providing more shaded area at the sides of the pool deck for those who want to get fresh air but limit thier exposure to sun. The cabanas are gone. The space is now a golf putting course. The tinted glass "windshield" is still in place.
