Beach question

I have a question about the beaches. When at ports and you go to the beach, what do you do with your stuff (bag) if you go in the water? Do you just leave it on the beach side??:cool:

Some facilities have lockers for rent. Otherwise you hope for the best. Sometimes I strike up a conversation with a fellow cruiser who is also on the beach and we agree to watch each others belongings.

We bring a disposable camera with us to the beach, not our good one. My husband keeps money, S&S card and a credit card in his zippered secure swimsuit pocket. Also, we don't all usually go in the water at the same time.

We also usually don't go in the water at the same time. My DH will go in the water, but I am mostly a beach bum just laying out to catch some rays. I would still keep an eye on my belongings if I were in the water unless the beach is really crowded.

A couple times we have buried our "water wallet" in the sand under our lounge chair or towel, so we both could swim at the same time. :)

When we were at Paradise Beach in Cozumel, I left our bag right by our chairs but my DH had sail and sign, etc., in a waterproof wallet. Everyone else was doing the same and felt comfortable doing so. We didn't venture far away from the bag though. If I walked the beach, my DH stayed by our chairs and vice versa. We did leave the bag alone when we were in the water though.
