JohninDC Posted February 16, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2012 Well it is an island, so there are lots of beaches and even more water. Popular items are a day at the beach - everything from small, almost deserted places to large beach clubs (some all-inclusive for food and drinks :D). You can snorkel on a tour boat (check out Eagle Ray) or from shore (check out the Money Bar), or swim with the dolphins at a couple of places. You cna even ferry to the mainland on a tour and see some of the Mayan ruins. There's a bar hop bus tour, or any number of tourist traps pouring "yards" of Margaritas. What do you want to do?
dkrimmeldogs Posted February 17, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 17, 2012 Go to Chankenaab National park. It will give you a variety if its your first time. You can swim with the dolphins ( in the ocean , not a reserve pool ) AWESOME! Snorkle ,great beach, and there is a great park to walk and see some of the smaller ruins. On your way back ,stop off for some shopping. Things are pretty inexpensive.
quirkygrl16 Posted February 19, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted February 19, 2012 Thanks so much. We want to see ruins for sure.
Hstergo Posted February 19, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2012 The ruins at Chankenaab are not real .. if you want a day at the beach I like Mr Sanchos you can do all inclusive or pay as you go, its clean and free to get in. If you want to see authentic ruins the closest ones are in Tulum which is on the mainland. there are different tours you can take to get to the ruins. maldenmusic Posted February 19, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 19, 2012 San Gerviso ruins are there but not very impressive. I don't think Coz has many Mayan ruins. The beach we like the Playa Palancar.
