Scooters In St. Maarten - Great Recommendation!

Prior to our sailing it seemed that most everyone advised against renting scooters for safety reasons. HOWEVER, while in St. Maarten we decided to live on the edge and rent a scooter. We walked out the security gates and there was a guy asking us if we wanted to rent a scooter. We walked 1/2 a block he picked us up in his car and drove us about 1/2 mile to his warehouse. It cost us $64.00 (which included insurance) for the day. He gave us a map and we toured the entire island. We did as we pleased and went to all the popular beaches. It was really amazing!!!

 

The scooters we rented were very well maintain and in great condition. We saw other rental companies with scooters available for rent and we really questioned their safety. The scooter company we dealt with will pick you up at the pier and drive you back to the pier -- althought it is only a 10 min. walk - we opted to walk back to the pier.
