Fam of 5 Posted May 24, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2004 There are five of us going to Bermuda in august. Our three daughters ages 14, 13 &9 wil be with us. Any packing suggestions? Is there enough on board to keep the older two busy?
jp2001 Posted May 24, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2004 My packing suggestion is: don't forget the ''over the door shoe holder - pocket type'' not really for shoes but to put all little things and toiletteries in (I'm sure girls of that age will want to bring much shampoo, makeup, fashion jewellerie, etc.) If you hang it out of the the bathroom door, the person who takes a shower just have to bring her items before to enter the bathroom and other who are preparing themselve still can access all their toiletteries (hairspray, body lotion, etc). What type of stateroom will you be in for a family of 5? Never been on this ship, I don't know if there is much to do but there was A LOT of things to do on the Dawn. Fam of 5 Posted May 27, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted May 27, 2004 Thanks! Great advice, We are actually in two separate rooms. This ship cannot accomodate 5 in one room. The shoe holder is great, each of the girls can have their own slots and MAYBE we can get through the week without any sharing problems.
Tomct Posted June 2, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 2, 2004 One item we have not brought, but will next time, is a power strip. We had two rooms this time, incl. two grandchildren and our two grown daughters. The daughters shared a cabin, but the one without the kids kept her clothes and things in our room. Consequently, there were times we wanted more plugs for the hairdryer, video camera charger, cell phone charger, walkie talkie recharger, etc. Pack light - check to see what your options are for washing clothes. On the Dawn, they will clean a bag of clothes for $19.99, and they also have washing machines and dryers. It's nice to have a backup.
