edgee Posted February 19, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2012 We are considering Azamara New Years' cruise to Rio in 2013...that year it will be on Quest. We are interested in visiting Iguazu Falls prior to embarkation in Buenos Aires, which would mean visiting the Falls Dec. 23-26. From those of you who have had experiences visiting Iguazu during this most busy (and hot) time, are the crowds so heavy as to hamper ability for a good visit to the Falls? Or was this not a problem? Thanks!
Menininha82 Posted February 19, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2012 There is no reason to believe that there will be crowds at the falls during the Christmas period.
edgee Posted February 19, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted February 19, 2012 Thanks for the response. Reason for my question was that I communicated with an excellent guide we used in B.A. last year and she just sent me a message warning that the holiday season is an especially crowded time in Iguazu. Therefore I was seeking experienced input from those that have visited during that time. I also noticed that hotel rates in Iguazu during time that are higher than other South American summer rates for that location.

I know that Buenos Aires is very crowded between Christmas and New Years and that Iguazu is very crowed from Mid Jan. until the start of school in Mid March....but I am not sure about Iguazu at Christmas.
