Hello, does anyone know how far the beach is from the Cruise ship port in Sanya? thank you

 

 

Ships dock at Pheonix Island, a man made island in the bay off Sanya.

 

It takes about 10 minutes to walk off the island and there's a 'beach' immediately to your left as you walk over the bridge. Not very nice at all

 

After we'd left people were saying there was another beach closer in to town, so to the right off the bridge. It definitely wasn't walkable.

 

I've just looked on google maps and you can see Pheonix island and then a bay with a curved white sandy beach about 5km south east.

 

Unless things have improved it was very difficult getting a cab driver to understand you so ask as you get off the ship and one of the staff at the cruise terminal might be able to write some instructions for you to get there and back.

You find a Chinese cruise member on board and get them to write down the beach directions for the cab driver in Chinese. also get crew member to write down port address & ship name for the return trip. Taxi meters run in Chines Yuan . (Conventional Western numbers on the meter.)

Try the hot springs in Sanya, they are amazing!!!

 

Beats any beach hands down.
