lssg Posted February 26, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2012 We are cruising on the independence of the sea, our first royal caribbean cruise, having been on Princess & Holland. When we have boarded our cruise in the past, on the first day we ate lunch in the Main Dining Room rather then the buffet. On the independence of the sea is the main dining room open for lunch on the first day we board or do we have to eat the buffet. thanks for any answers you can give me. Rare LittleMissMagic Posted February 26, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2012 Usually the Main Dining Room doesn't open for lunch until the second day of the cruise.
Tyler80 Posted February 26, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2012 The main dining room is not usually open for lunch on Day 1. But you can go into the main dining room to find your assigned table unless you have My Time Dining. Enjoy your cruise!
danp Posted February 26, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2012 On some of the cruises there is a special lunch in the MDR for those doing B2B cruises.
seacruise9 Posted February 27, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 27, 2012 Hi, I have taken four Royal Caribbean cruises during the past year on a variety of ships (Navigator of the Seas, March 2011; Allure of the Seas, September 2011; Liberty of the Seas, December 2011; and Jewel of the Seas, January 2012). The main dining room was closed during the first noon (boarding day) on each of these cruises. Of course, a buffet lunch is available in the Windjammer. During the sea days, be sure to try lunch in the main dining room. The tutti salads served there are excellent. :) Chuck
