Would like to clarify Internet and shower related questions that have been posted on this thread:

REGATTA/NAUTICA: Internet signal for wi-fi use throughout the ship will be upgraded to maximum "4 bar strength" by April 30th and possibly sooner.

MARINA: Internet signal for wi-fi use throughout the ship was upgraded to maximum "4 bar strength" effective mid-February. During her November dry dock, the following shower and bathtub related upgrades/modifications will be made: SHOWER- install new adjustable bar with new hose and shower head; relocate existing grab bar to maximize internal shower area;soap holder already replaced with new model that better prevents soap from falling to floor.

TUB: install tempered glass splash partition; install new adjustable bar with new hose and shower head. OTHER: install glass shelve with protective spill proof railing in corner wall between shower and toilet and install protective spill proof railing on the existing wooden shelf under sink.

RIVIERA: all items noted above under Marina will have been installed/modified on Riviera from her launch.

Hope this helps answer your questions

We got off B2B on Marina Wednesday. The internet. although still VERY expensive did work very well from our cabin 9095 and had no drops that required geting credit. A plus for the fix put in. However, our sopa and shampoo holder appeared to be the same as on our TA in March. The soap did slide through, although when we used the oval shaped bath bar instead of the circular bar that helped. The shampoo still slid through. However, I noticed as we were disembarking that some of the shampoo and conditioner containers on the carts in the hall were the tall fatter ones like we had on the R ships. Perhaps they were going to start using those - they sure wouldn't slide through, although I wonder if they take up alot more space. We had some issues with the 2nd cruise with not being recognized as continuing travellers, but that's a topic for a separate post.

Thanks very much FDR for the updated info. Althought O has a long way to go before I'm HAPPY about the totality (e.g. speed/cost) of Internet service (as compared to being nominally satisfied that maybe a first step in the right direction is happening), I feel much better about the shower situation on our planned Riviera cruise.

I'm putting my concerns behind me for now and looking forward to enjoying the many good things we hope to find on Riviera.

Future updates on Riviera experiences and any post-drydock reviews on Marina before our January 3, 2013 sailing would be very helpful.

Thanks again to all who have posted.

Howard
