Travelling from Canada do I need both birth certificate and passport

Do we need birth certificates too. We will have aour passports

If you hold a Canadian passport, that is all you will need at the port.

Just the passport will get you anywhere...

The only time you might need a birth certificate in addition to the passport would be to prove parentage of a minor child and that is only asked for if the last names are different.

It is not a closed circuit for you in that you are Canadian and will require a passport.

Just the passport is all you need require. I have never taken my bith certificate on any trip, land, sea or air. A drivers licence or other government issued ID is good to have with your room card for land tours and leave you passport on the ship in the safe.
