dbail4 Posted February 28, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2012 Board your transportation at the pier for the approximately 30-minute ride to where the beach snorkel starts. This area is home to the Curacao Underwater Marine Park and has much to offer the experienced snorkeler. The visibility of Curacao's waters is renowned throughout the Caribbean. The water temperature averages 83 degrees, comfortable to swim in 365 days of the year. The island is home to myriad tropical fish, seahorses, eels, sea turtles and dolphins. The highlight is snorkeling above a sunken tugboat - ready to be photographed with your underwater camera. The tug rests in about 15 feet of water. Should we take this snorkel trip or save our snorkel day for Aruba and tour the island ? Thank you , Debbie
ajhunt2 Posted February 28, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2012 From what I understand from the Aruba boards is that geographically speaking, the two islands are very much alike, but that Curaco is much better for snorkling

cruiseapril Posted March 2, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2012 Enjoy your time in Curacao and Aruba. You probably will have time to walk around Willemstad, so you will see some of the best of Curacao there. In Aruba, we took a bus tour in the morning and saw about 2/3 of the island and then went up to the Radisson on Palm Beach. Do you have plans for Aruba yet? Quasar1011 Posted March 2, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2012 Should we take this snorkel trip or save our snorkel day for Aruba and tour the island? Do you also go to Bonaire? From my research on (and off) these boards, Bonaire has the best snorkeling- as in world class. It also has the least to do on the island itself. We are doing our snorkeling off Bonaire, and saving Aruba and Curacao for some sightseeing, beaches and souvenir hunting.
dbail4 Posted March 3, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted March 3, 2012 We have a tour planned with Sonny Binns. He will pick us up and tour the Island of Aruba. We do not go Bonaire.
