Easiest way to get there is a cab. By bus you need 2 buses and a long walk.

Yellowcab outside the terminal are cheapest. I think around Pesos 200,- but make your rate before entering.

The cabs inside the terminal charge per person, of course you can talk with the driver about the price.

Yes my grandsons (and we too) love to go there. It is nicely situated in the mountains (bring insect repellent). You can buy a bag with food for the animals and give it to them. At an extra charge it often is possible to hold a newborn animal e.g. a young tiger.
