Out to sea! Posted March 6, 2012 #87 Share Posted March 6, 2012 Love your review and pictures. I have a few questions if you don't mind :) 1- In the above pictures, where did you drop off your luggage? 2-We are driving and I was wondering if you see where the parking area was? 3-We are always at the port at about 10:30 and get a zone 4-5 card. Even last September we left out of Miami on the Valor. I guess there's not question here, I guess it was just more crowded. Thanks for the pictures and review. Can't wait to hear more. I was on the Liberty last June. Love that ship!! The parking area is right across the street from the terminal....about a 200 ft walk. If you're there at 1030 (like I am) you should be able to park in the covered parking, first floor. Then across the street and the porters are right there to take your luggage. Then walk in the doors to security and a week of relaxation!
Out to sea! Posted March 6, 2012 #88 Share Posted March 6, 2012 Quick question. Do you have to pay to enter the Serenity area (like on Princess) or is it free?? I LOVE those chairs and can't wait to sit (fall asleep) in one!! :D

I'm really thinking of getting there a little earlier this year because I've read that there will be more ships there than we had there last year. I LOVE those chairs and can't wait to sit (fall asleep) in one!! :D It's free, but it gets filled up pretty early in the morning. Later in the review we will discuss how we "fought back" against the chair hogs that felt a towel on a chair with no one in sight for over an hour is perfectly acceptable... Yes, those chairs and especially the clam shells are wonderfully relaxing!! KirkWN737 Posted March 6, 2012 #93 Share Posted March 6, 2012 Great Review so far. We're thinking about a Liberty cruise this fall. She was so fun in 2007 but that was 5 years ago. The sports bar is definitely a plus in my book.
Anung Un Rama Posted March 6, 2012 Author #94 Share Posted March 6, 2012 OK, so on to dinner. Now we have only done anytime dining on the Pride and loved it. Our table for 2 was always great and we only once had a wait but there was a bar right there where we just grabbed a drink. First off we had trouble getting to the dining room because you have to go to deck 5 and then all the way to the front of the ship to go to deck 3 to get into the Golden MDR. There's an entrence in the middle as well but they were only seating from the front. Whatever, we figured it out after the first day so no biggie. Now onto the seating situation. I've heard talk before we left of people complaining about sitting close to or with others during AT dining and it always confused me. Well first off we had a little wait along with 4 or 5 other couples and they just had us line up along the wall in a small area at the entrence. Eh, it was the only time we had to wait and it was only for a minute but I'd dread having to stand there longer than 5 minutes with no where to really go. So as we're walking to our 'table for 2' my heart drops to my stomach. We were in a row of 4 tables for 2 and I was sitting closer to the people to my left and right than I was my beautiful fiance. It just felt awkward. It's not that I don't like talking to people but we always looked forward to our own private table and a more intimate dining experience. It's also much harder to make a joke (usually inappropriate) with two others right there. I have to say I was completely turned off from this experience and ready to never go back to the MDR. We however did see a few couples sitting at random 2 person tables and made a note to give it one more shot for formal night but to be sure to ask for a more secluded table. Sorry for my rant but I thought it was worth noting for those who have only had one or the other experience. Now time for some food porn!!!!! The menu was basically the same as our last cruise with pretty much the same foods served on the same nights (including ribs on formal night ) We both started tonight with the chicken tenders marinated with cucumber and lettuce. Now this has always been one of my favorite apps because the chicken was lightly breaded with a bit of seasoning. Not tonight. These were chicken fingers. The only difference I noticed in the MDR the entire cruise and my only minor complaint about any of the food. For my entree I had the tender braised beef briscuit in gravy with whipped mashed potatoes Cass had the sweet and sour shrimp For dessert we both had the WMC (amazignly the only time we had it on the cruise). Anung Un Rama Posted March 6, 2012 Author #96 Share Posted March 6, 2012 We went back to the room to grab some cash and spend the rest of the night in the casino. We had this little guy waiting for us. We're gonna call it a seal and just go with that. Luck was with Cass at the tables and I was tapped out pretty early. We did meet a bunch of nice people from New England who were at the Let it Ride table quite often. They were part of a really large group from Friendly Beaver Camp Ground. I can't make this stuff up people. We don't really like the shows so we skipped them and walked around the upper decks for a bit. Neither of us were quite ready for bed so we decided to throw our bathing suits on and try to find a hot tub. Went to the Serenity area where there are 2 hot tubs. One had a couple of guys in it so we went to get in the other...... brrrr. The heating pump obviously wasn't working as it was freezing. We decided to suck it up and go to the other tub when we saw security talking to the guys in it. We thought they were shutting them down but as it turns out, they were under 21 and not allowed in the Serenity area. If only they were this on top of the chiar hogs . Normally I wouldn't have cared if a couple of 'kids' (they were in their late teens) were here since no one else was using it. But as it got us our own private hut tub for a while, I was all for it tonight :o. Stayed in for 20 minutes or so until a few others showed up and headed down to call it a night. Up next - Sunday, Sea Day and first Formal Night

SEAL is a good choice and you can dance to his songs (oops, sorry you guys don't dance;)) However, I think it's GooGooChaChoo the Walrus,or Paul McCarthy incarnate.
