cruzntheseas Posted March 6, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2012 Hello All, I am cruising to Bermuda on the 9/16/12 Royal EOS itinerary from NJ. I was curious how the weather typically is on the 1st 3 days at sea? We were also curious if the ocean temperatures in Bermuda are typically warm in the early morning in Sept for excursions? Lastly, we are interested in a nice sunset tour boat or sailing in Bermuda ... any suggestions for something along these lines? Thanks!
marco Posted March 7, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2012 We've sailed to Bermuda out of NY several time during Sept/early Oct. We were fortunate to always have smooth seas and warm temps. Certainly warm enough to be out on deck and in and around the pool and warm enough to be on the beach and in the ocean while in Bermuda. This can be a transitional time of year and the weather we enjoyed certainly can not be guaranteed, but having experienced it several times, it would appear it's the norm rather than the exception, but a couple of years ago friends of ours went in Sept, and ended up going to Charleston and Nassau because of a hurricane. disfan13 Posted March 9, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 9, 2012 You should be just fine. The water temps are still very warm in mid September both on the way and in Bermuda . There is always the chance of bad weather, no matter when you cruise, but this is hurricane season.
cruzntheseas Posted March 9, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted March 9, 2012 Thanks Marco & Disfan13 for the information! Very helpful - so glad to know that the temperatures are typically warm during sea days & on the island around that time of the year!
