Rare misguy Posted June 2, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2004 I encountered an issue that I had seen mentioned on this board and disregared. When you book the Anniversary package, I would make sure I took proof of the purchase in writing, preferrably from NCL. When we got to our cabin, the champagne and chocolate strawberries were not there. I called the front desk, and then went down there, they had no record of the purchase. It took 4 phone calls over three days in port to get the issue resolved. They brought us the items, but were going to charge us again. Then they said they had credited it back on the shore purchase, and I just needed to pay the onboard charge. I called Miami, and it hadn't been credited back. We finally got it worked out, and everyone was helpful, but proof would have made life easier. debjo Posted June 2, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 2, 2004 We booked the Anniversary Package for our 4/23/04 DAWN cruise over the phone along, as we had our shore excursions because we had "read" on these boards the problems people had with booking things on-line. A few days before our cruise, I phoned NCL to confirm everything again and was told that everything was in order. When we got on the ship, our chocolate covered strawberries were in our room along with a letter giving direction on how to book our dinner at LeBistro. The canapes came prior to dinner a few days later (they were smoked salmon and other things that we didn't care for...sweets of some sort would have been preferred). The "party" was a nice mix & mingle event with cake and free photo opportunity. All in all, the Anniversary package seemed to be a great deal for the money! ally10169 Posted June 2, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 2, 2004 We just had that package on the Dawn last week. I had booked through my TA. When we got on board we had the bottle of non alcoholic bubby but no strawberries. Later that first afternoon a really nice fruit basket appeared with a bottle of non alcoholic red wine and a card about the honeymoon package. The next day the choc covered strawberries showed up. A few days later we got the canapes. We never got any instructions on Le Bistro but we just told them when we were there that we had the package and it was fine. We missed the party so we lost out on the picture. I don't know how or why we got the nice fruit basket but we enjoyed that the most! DivaG Posted June 2, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 2, 2004 I've ordered the anniversary package and my TA asked what night we wanted to eat at Le Bistro. She is taking care of all the details for us. I'll remember to bring along my documentation once it arrives - just to be on the safe side. Thanks G
debjo Posted June 2, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 2, 2004 For Allyson... Thanks for reminding me about the non-alcoholic wine...yes, we had a bottle chilling in our cabin upon our arrival along with two stemmed glasses. "Our" fruit basket (which included an additional bottle of non-alcoholic champagne) was a seperate gift from our Cruise Planner. Sorry you missed out on your free picture! Debjo (glad to learn there are other couples out there that don't drink alcholic beverages) Until the NORWEGIAN DAWN 2004 (Can't Hardly Wait But Still Wishing I Was Going On The NORWAY Instead!) pam512 Posted June 3, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 3, 2004 A friend of mine had my cabin decorated for my birthday, and everything was in place when I first entered the room. As were my shore excursion tickets. Of course, I wasn't able to use one of them (in Juneau), but that's another story for another post! All in all, things were pretty good in my little world and my little corner of the ship! Wishing you all the same luck on your cruises!
