Just booked Oasis for the western caribbean in September and i phoned Royal

to check on cabin availability with them . The gentleman that i spoke with seemed very informed and suggested the port side for land views when docked. The cabins he recommended were on the starboard side though , and i only realized this when i was booking with the travel agent . ( i get triple points with this TD credit card i have , [got my flights for free with the points i accumulated ] if i book with their agency ) .

Anyway , my question is , which is the better side for views ? Any help is greatly appreciated.

cheers !

When we were on Oasis last year, the ship always docked with the starboard side to the port, with the port side facing out to the water. We had a forward port side room, and we were always faced away from the land. Hope this helps.

Giving the cruise specialist the benefit of the doubt, maybe by "port side" he actually meant "the side that's toward the port" instead of "left side." ??? Anyway, he definitely put you on the RIGHT side (both "correct" and "starboard")!
