aambard Posted June 6, 2004 #11 Share Posted June 6, 2004 I am a cruise agent, and the Pride of America is indeed available for booking as of May 1, 2005. At a going away luncheon aboard the Star here in Honolulu last month our inside sales manager at NCL told us that both ships will be doing 7-day inter-island itineraries until further notice. TxRose Posted June 6, 2004 #12 Share Posted June 6, 2004 Thanks for the info. April. Do you know if they will be doing the repositioning cruises on its way to Hawaii as previously planned? May be interested in the Eastern seaboard or Panama Canal itineraries. P.S. Would love some info on Cruise One also. Feel free to email me at TxRose226@aol.com. jonsmom Posted June 6, 2004 #13 Share Posted June 6, 2004 aambard Just the person I am looking to ask a couple of questions, since you are a T.A. I am interested in booking an inter-island itinerary, perhaps the Pride of America, but not yet, maybe in a couple of years. (Need lots of time to save $$) I would like to start doing some research on the islands/things to do, etc. Do you have some travel books that you could recommend. Thanks so much, jonsmom Norwegian Dawn Explorer of the Seas
aambard Posted June 7, 2004 #14 Share Posted June 7, 2004 I really like the Unofficial Guide to Cruises. It is very thorough and has many recommendations that are off the beaten path for each itinerary. For Hawaii, there is a guide called "the Maverick Guide to Hawaii" which many visitors like, but be wary of their swimming/snorkeling recommendations---some of the areas they send people to can be dangerous at certain times of the year. I will list the Pride of America's itineraries for 2005 as soon as my booking engine recovers---it's feeling a bit peaked at the moment . Rose---I will email you this evening with some information and to say hi! bubba76 Posted June 8, 2004 #18 Share Posted June 8, 2004 We were able to book Pride of America back in Feb. of this year for May 22, 2005 on Cruisequick. Later the availablility began to disappear from NCL' site & some of the other online sites. The Pride of Aloha began to show up for May 2005. I inquired about this with Cruisequick & NCL. Soon we received a confirmation that our booking had been changed to the Pride of Aloha. Although we looked forward to sailing the Pride of America, we were satisfied with the cabin & price we received in the re-booking. I have looked around & it seems that Pride of Aloha is still the only option for May 2005. I don't know about June and after.

aambard Posted June 8, 2004 #21 Share Posted June 8, 2004 I'm not really sure what we're arguing about. I have the ability to book the Pride of America cruises starting on May 1, 2005 through my consortiuum's propriatory booking engine which connects directly to the cruisline's booking engine. I was invited by the District Sales Manager of our region, who will be giving a seminar to agents such as myself on board the Pride of Aloha on Sunday, to begin booking as the Pride of America will be in service as of that date. The fact that this person and that person has told you differently does not alter this fact, up to and including NCL booking agents, who are often not up to date on their information, particularly those working the general sales desk. aambard Posted June 9, 2004 #23 Share Posted June 9, 2004 LOL, Shoreguy, UNCLE!
