Live from Pride Second Day at Sea

;);)havent posted since embarkation, having too much fun. Some general observations: The Pride is Avery clean and well crewed ship. I love the Spirit Class layout and I have found my Cabin for all future sailings.

You can feel a definite vibration in the MDR when the ship is at full speed. This vibration can be felt aft as high as deck 10. It goes away at lower speeds.

For bluehen, Cabin 7260 has plenty of room for a scooter. I have a big electric wheelchair and can turn it around almost everywhere in the room, that also includes the Bathroom. You have grab bars for the toilet and shower as well as a fold down bench in shower. Tha counter is lower for a HC user. There is a slight incline into the bath, no steps. The balcony has two high back chairs, one reclining chair, one chaise lounge and two tables. It is at least twice as wide than a regular balcony and at least three cabins long. There is a service closet next tothe room and then the elevators. There is very little noise from either. If you have any more questions let me know.

There is a 3 inch step to get to the Balcony. Next time I will solve this with a threshold you can buy from Amazon that will go right over it totake my chair out on the Balcony. I think you will love this cabin.

Time for early sitting. Mor later, Maybe.

Thank you so much for info VTSAIL ! I would love to know how much of a mess the shower makes. I read somewhere on CC about bringing magnets for bottom of shower curtain to help control water. I can walk short distances without assistance so should be okay walking onto balcony. What did you do at muster drill ? No way I can do stairs and I have a balance problem if standing in one spot for more than a minute or two (also painful ). Enjoy every minute of your trip !!!

:)The shower in 7260 is not that bad. But magnets would be a good choice. For the Muster Drill they let HC passengers to use the elevators. Our muster station was D. When we got there they showed us to a lounge where you can sit and went over the procedures. When the Drill was over, they let the HC passengers leave first and allowed them the use of the elevators. Very Professional.

We have a great Cabin Steward, Nigel, hope he is still there when you cruise. The only complaint about the cabin is the TV. It is an older one and not HD. I guess I have been spoiled. Everyone on the ship is very friendly. I have to say, after Seven Cruises on six different Carnival ships, the Pride is my favorite.(except for the Casino where I have left some money). Hope this post has been helpful. As I write this, it is 80 and Sunny in Port Canaveral. Aloha

I will be looking forward to Port Canaveral because my DD will be living near Cocoa Beach and she'll come pick us up for the day. Can't thank you enough for taking time out of your vacation to post here. The Pride is my favorite too. Now that your back, sure hope you post about the rest of your week on the Pride. Did you have any problems with elevators ? Last cruise I was on the Sensation and some people were really nice and helpful, others just pushed their way in front of my scooter to get on elevators - luckily the majority of people are anxious to assist. I hope the weather continued being sunny and warm for you!!

I was on the Pride last October...and the October before that...the Pride does not have a Mongolian grill or a Fish and Chips section. There *is* a late night Mexican buffet served up on Weds, around 23.30 (aka 11.30 pm), if memory serves. There is a limited hours sushi cart on Deck 2 (I think), all-the-time pizza, and there is a do-it-yourself deli and salad area. Let us also not forget the little coffee shop and bakerie, also on deck 2 (I think).

Scupper me hide...

How is the Lido Deck for lunch? Is there a Mongolian BBQ, or Fish and Chips, or Deli or a Mexican area?

Sailing Pride in a couple of months....it is our first time on her.

Thanks!!
