SEPyle Posted April 24, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2005 It's amazing how many questions I have for this first trip to Alaska. Can anyone tell I'm excited??? First of all: We'll be going from Seward to Girdwood, via motorcoach. I believe someone said what side of the bus is best, but I can't rememer. Then traveling from Girdwood to Anchorage, which side is best? Fairbanks to Denali; Denali to Talkeetna; then Denali to Anchorage on the train: Is there a best side to sit on??? Thanks so much! Budget Queen Posted April 24, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2005 No difference which side Seward to Girdwood. From Girdwood to Anchorage- you want the driver's side for Arm views. Seats are assigned on the train. But the right side from Fairbanks will have the "McKinley side" but viewing is rare. Plenty of repeative scenic areas in my opinion, now that I have taken it several times. :)
SEPyle Posted April 25, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted April 25, 2005 Thanks for the info! Those little bits of knowledge sure make a difference for the times when we do have a choice! Sharon
B J Posted April 25, 2005 #4 Share Posted April 25, 2005 The scenery is great on both sides of the train but you won't miss anything since the driver will stop for the best scenery and you can go in between the cars and stand by the window and either look or take pictures while moving.
