Minisuite amenities

I know that little is known about The Crown on this message board or so it seems. We are sailing on The Crown to Bermuda on July 4th and have just upraded to an AE minisuite.

 

I know we have concierge (no big deal) but anything else? Are their regridgerators, robes, or upgraded toiletries? Is there anything to look forward to other than the additional space?

 

I will appreciate any help.

Hello,

Just off the Crown & we were in an AD suite. We had a frig., robes, fruit & champ. upon arrival. We just loved the conceirge, Gemma. She was helpful in many ways, including escorting us off the ship when we disembarked.

We were in an AE Minisuite the week of May 9. Room 9052. No refrigerator, no robes. The only "extras" were a bowl of fruit and a bottle of sparkling wine. Also, the occasional towel animal. It is a very nice sized room though and we were very comfortable in it.

Hey DSawyer,

Congratulations on the upgrade!

How did you get it? Did you get it free? We're in category AF. I think the only cabins with refrigerators are the AD and up. I called the reassignment desk to check on an upgrade last week, but they wouldn't talk to me because we booked through an agent. We don't care, we're fine with what we have.

Laodell, be sure to to talk to Mary Rose at the reassignment desk when you call again. Someone on this message board posted her name and how helpful she is. Tell her you saw her name on CruiseCritic and she may help you out. Yes, I did pay extra to uprade but it wasn't that much considering I went from an inside cabin to a minisuite. However, they may not really want to upgrade you because they can resell those cheap cabins easier than your cabin.

Thanks for the advice. I did call back and spoke to DiMary (an agent that answered the phone)after I read on here that if someone tells you they can't talk to you because you booked with an agent to keep calling back. DiMary was very nice and we were able to upgrade to a category AD suite, along with the other two families that are going with us. We even got side by side rooms. We had to pay more and since we were already in a AF suite, we probably didn't get as good of a deal but it is a better cabin because we had obstructed view before. Our friends went from a CC room to a AD, for the same price, so they were thrilled. Could have had the owner's suite for $500 more per person, but we didn't want to pay that much for a room. I did complete our pre-registration tonight and it says it's confirmed. We don't have docs yet, but they've been printed. Not much longer now....

Good for you! Since I am going on another cruise after this one, we didn't upgrade to a suite. There's a limit of what we can spend. However, I may be sorry because we won't have the frige to keep things cold.

 

I found out one just needs to talk to the right person at NCL.

Thanks for the great tips guys. WE have 3 cabins 2 AFs and an inside cat I for our extended family. We bought up from BA cat awhile ago and now I'd like to try for an upgrade on the I cabin. Maybe even try to get 3 suites together...we sail 06/27, and I will keep calling back hoping to get the magic rep. : )

That was very nice! I'm sure they don't get treated so nicely very often. It's great that you're getting to go on two cruises back to back. I've never thought about doing that before. Have you done that before?
