Carnival Ship Question

Can someone please tell me the pros and cons about these Carnival ships? Is one nicer than the other?

Fantasy

Fascination

Paradise

Holiday

Imagination

I'm sure you get these questions a lot. I just wanted to see everything in one spot.

Thank you for taking the time to answer this post even though it's been asked time and time again.

Well, I can tell you about the Holiday, as I've done four cruises on her and loved each one.:) She's the oldest and smallest ship in Carnival's present fleet, but very well taken care of. Very easy to learn your way around, friendly staff, wonderful food in the dining room, very clean, great entertainment in the main show lounge. I've cruised on several other Carnival ships (and others), but the Holiday is my favorite, bar none.

I can tell you about the Fascination. She was our first cruise and hooked us on cruising. I'd sail her again in a heartbeat.

As to if one is "nicer" than the other that's a tough question.

Each Carnival ship has a unique decor theme that runs throughout. Each ship has all the elements there for you to choose from to make a cruise that is fabulous for YOU like a casino, pools, entertainment, dining, etc.

One place you can go also for a good comparison is the Carnival website. Click on "ships" and take a look.

Personally, I think you could have a great cruise on any of those ships, several are the same class and to get into ships with more balconies or alternative dining options you'll have to go off your list.

If departure port does not matter I'd go with the one that fits your schedule and budget and has an itinerary you like.

Well four of the ships that you have asked about are all in the same class of ships which is the Fantasy class. The Fantasy is the oldest of that group but it also had a major refurbishment less than two years ago and now looks great. I have photos of her in my first link below.

I have also cruised on the Imagination and Fascination and the Fascination was my least favorite Carnival ship for various reasons but others seem to like her.

The Holiday is older and smaller and does not have an atrium. Other than that she is not much different than the Fantasy class vessels.

I would look at price and itinerary to see what will work for you and let that be your deciding factor.

Just got back from the Fantasy last week and loved her! As the other poster said she was just refurbed in Fall of 2003 and looks great! They keep the ship very clean and we did not notice many signs of wear. The crew is fantastic as well as the food and entertainment. The CD on the cruise told us that Fantasy was rated #3 in the fleet based on customer surveys.
