Beppevroomvroom Posted March 28, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2012 Can anyone tell me the best way to get from the ship to Miami airport on debarkation? Is it best to book a transfer or is it just as cheap/easy to get a taxi (2 people)? We've always had transfers included in the past but not this year. Thanks in advance :)
Rare mizLORInj Posted March 28, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2012 We go with a taxi - it was about $25 per cab plus tip (fixed rate for the fare); maybe a bit more now.

KenMo Posted March 28, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 28, 2012 Taxi is better, IMO. You can go when you're ready...not wait for the shuttle to fill up.

azevedan Posted April 13, 2012 #6 Share Posted April 13, 2012 Is it tough to get a taxi? We disembarked in Ft. Lauderdale a few years ago, and the few taxis were almost fought over for the early departers.
klmorg Posted April 13, 2012 #7 Share Posted April 13, 2012 Definitely a taxi... plenty of them will be waiting, flat rate to the airport.
spacepotatoes Posted April 14, 2012 #8 Share Posted April 14, 2012 With the two of you, it's pretty much the same cost-wise for taxi vs. shuttle. I'd go with a taxi for the convenience.
IMDORY Posted April 14, 2012 #9 Share Posted April 14, 2012 We've done taxi both times...very easy.
sharlon Posted April 14, 2012 #10 Share Posted April 14, 2012 OP, thanks for asking the question. I am wondering how hard it will be to find a taxi for 5 passengers (2 adults, 3 kids). Anyone know?

Anyone know? I am a family of 5 and had no problem. When you come out they have a porter there, just tell him you have 5 and he will call over a minivan taxi. There were plenty of them when I was there.

We have 5 also, 5 ladies wanting to get the party started and wanting to head to the port together! Is the charge for the taxi minivan the same as the taxi? 24? Thanks! When I went in October, our hotel called for one to bring us to the port and there weren't any available. We ended up with a shuttle like van and it ended up costing us about $35 from South Beach to POM. We didn't care, we just wanted to get to the port. You don't say where you will be transporting from. When leaving the Port after the cruise, there were lots of minivans there lined up.

No hotel for us, airport to port, and vice-versa.... that would be great instead of paying for two cabs (48)
